A Eulogy For Mercutio

Today, we mourn the sad and untimely death of Mercutio, kinsman of Prince Escalus. Although he was a part of neither the Montague family, nor the Capulets, he nonetheless met his end at the hands of a Capulet. He had many admirable qualities. Romeo was like, and I quote, "the little brother I never had" unquote. Those who knew Mercutio say he was a fun-loving, crazy, spastic troublemaker. He LOVED words and wordplay, especially puns. Mercutio seemed to make the most of his life. He always found the bright side of things. You hardly ever saw Mercutio without his trademark mischiveous smirk. Mercutio always looked out for his friends. Always, he found a way to laugh in the face of a serious situation. Perhaps we can all learn something and be a little like Mercutio.
